Christian S. Boshart son of Christian and Katherine Schwarzendruber Boshart was born in Jefferson County Iowa May 12, 1874. He was converted in his youth and united with the Mennonite Church of which he was a faithful member at the time of his death. On February 19, 1896, he was united in marriage to Miss Emma Boshart, daughter of Menno and Sophia Boshart. They lived on a farm near Wayland five years and then moved to East Wayland where they have lived 36 years. No children were born to this union however, they opened their home to a niece, Mrs. Leslie Schrock, whose mother had passed away. For a number of years past, Brother Boshart’s health had been failing and his condition was known to be serious to those who knew him intimately. He passed away early Sunday morning, March 14, 1937, at the age of 62 years, 10 months, and 12 days. He leaves his wife, one sister, Mrs. Anna Tschantz, two brothers, Joseph of Alta Loma, California, and Jacob of Mt. Pleasant, and other friends and relatives.
