HUSTON FAMILY REUNION, 1909 The Hustons from near and far meet in reunion once a year. On these occasions gather in the kith and kin for the purpose of having a jolly time together and exchanging experiences that the year has brought. Last year the reunion was held here in town at the home of Ella Huston Shearer, while the one of last week was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Huston, between here and Wyman and proved a most delightful occasion. The following account, prepared by one who was present, was handed to us for publication: One Wednesday, August 25, occurred the annual Huston reunion at the home of W. C. Huston, near Wyman, the old homestead of Joseph Huston, and the birth place of the three younger children. The children of this branch of the Huston tree were all present on the day, except John L., of Uniontown, Pa. There were near one hundred present including the Hustons and connections, and a few visitors. The oldest one present was Aunt Mary (Huston) Reed, 78 years of age and the youngest were the babies. At noon all were gathered around the table beautifully loaded with the good things of this life (the gift of God) and prepared by the good wives and daughters of the Hustonites. After dinner the company were seated in a semi-circle and had their pictures taken, and then Joe Huston, acting as chairman, called for speeches. John M. Huston of Vancouver, Washington, R. T.McCall, Elias Jackson and others responded. Wake Neal, being out in the state of Washington, wrote a letter which was read and was well received for the merriment it contained. After this the time was spent in visiting and getting acquainted with the relationships, thus ended the fifth Huston reunion.  Adjourned to meet next year at the old Reed homestead with Aunt Mary and family. Below is a list of those present from a distance: John M. Huston, Vancouver, Wash.; John C. Huston and wife, Vancouver, Wash.; Mrs. Emma Spencer, Cleveland, Ohio; Dr. I. E. Huston, Danville, Ill.; Mrs. Lizzie (Huston) Fickling, Cambridge, Ill.; Mrs. Ella E. (Huston) Steele and two daughters, Miss Louise and Mrs. Maybelle Hines, Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Sadie (Huston) Rossol, Alma, Neb.; J. M. Huston, wife and daughter, Merl, Greenfield, Ia.; R. T. McCall and wife, Washington; Miss Sarah Crawford, Crawfordsville; E. G. Jackson, Marshalltown; R. S. Huston and wife, Marengo, Ia.
