The Last Will and Testament of Alexander McDonald (d. 1845 - 63 years) In the name of God - I Alexander Mcdonold of the County of Henry and Territory of Iowa - being sick and weak in body but of sound mind and disposing memmory, for which I thank God, and calling to mind the uncertainty of human life, and being desirous to dispose of all such wordy Estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with - after the payment of all my just debts and funeral expences I give and bequeath to my wife Mary Mcdonold the whole of my Estate both real and personal during her natural life time and at her Death I desire that the Eighty Acres I now live on and forty Acres known as the timber belonging to it - be equally devided between my two sons John N Mcdonold and David L Mcdonold - and the forty Acres on mud Creek known as the Sugar Camp forty to be sold or equally devided amongst my Daughters - Nancy Roberts - Mary ann Armstrong - Eliza Parriott - Eve Armstrong - Margaret Mcdonold - Susan Roberts and Harriett Mcdonold - and lastly I do hereby Constitute and appoint my wife Mary Mcdonold and my son John Mcdonold Executrix and Execetor of this my last will and testament - hereby revoking all other wills and testaments by me made - in writings whereof I herunto set my hand and affix my seal this Ninth Day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty five Signed and sealed in The presants of Alexander McDonald LS [seal?] [S?] L Parriott James [M Vears?] Henry Swan
