Mt. Pleasant is listed as one of the towns in Iowa, which has a new National Guard unit, in a press release from Lt. John H. Reynolds of the reorganizational section of the state recruiting office. Officers in the National Guard have been in Mt. Pleasant recently making contacts regarding a unit here. Securing of a location has been under consideration and conferences have been held with Mayor J.E. Vandagriff.
