MUCH ACTIVITY AT GIRL SCOUT CENTER

The Girl Scout meeting room under the Band Stand in Central Park was the scene of much activity Tuesday, March 12. It was a fine way for our local Girls Scouts and Brownies to celebrate the 34th anniversary of the first Girl Scout meeting.

The Girl Scouts are appreciative and well pleased with this room which is now their official meeting place. It has been made attractive with newly painted walls, curtains, tables and chairs. City officials have done a major part in offering the room and providing heat and light.

The Brownies met by troops from three to five. Mrs. Axel Bergdahl and Mrs. K. W. Nelson were the adult committee in charge, the intermediate troops’ hours were from five to seven, with Mrs. Frank Miller and Mrs. Wilford Hoaglin the committee, the senior troops’ hours were seven to nine with Mrs. Leo Lovett and Miss Helen Hallowell the committee.

Each group planned its own program and refreshments were served. Troop Leaders, troop sponsors and many interested in the Girl Scout program called to see the Girl Scouts in their new meeting place.
