WICK SISTERS TOUR SOUTH ENTERTAINING IN CITIES AND ARMY CAMPS

Many friends in and around Mt. Pleasant are receiving interesting cards and letters from Jo Anne and Barbara Wick, who are touring the Southland on an extended dance tour. The girls are under contract to a Chicago producer, and have been gone for six weeks. They are traveling in company of four other girls, a chaperone and a manager.

While in Chicago, they were fortunate enough to be billed at the Sherman Hotel's popular college inn room the same night Tommy Dorsey and his famous band played there, and later in the evening, were guests at a party in honor of Dorsey and his boys.

En route from Charleston, South Carolina to Jacksonville, Florida, the girls entertained at several army camps. They state that southern hospitality has not been exaggerated. The people are grand, and very war minded. Food is very high and unless their hotel accommodations were made in advance, it would be impossible to secure lodging. The girls contract calls for five shows daily, but often they do six. They like the work and say the trip has been wonderful. Later in the season the girls are billed for a three day engagement at the "Palms," one of the show places of beautiful Miami Beach.

Jo Anne and Barbara are the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. John Wick, Jr. of Mt. Union, and both girls are well known here.
