Last Sunday, a pleasant gathering and basket dinner were held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Kauffman in honor of the former's mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Kauffman's, birthday. A large birthday cake adorned with seventy-eight candles made a pretty center piece for the long table. The cake was baked by Miss Edith Kauffman.

Those present to partake of the excellent dinner were Mr. and Mrs. Will Allen, Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Kauffman, Mrs. N. C. Essley, Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Kauffman, Mrs. J. J. Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Kauffman, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Bates and Bernard, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Roth and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kauffman and Jimmy, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Kauffman and Donald, Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Goldsmith and family, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hulme and Beulah, the host and hostess Mr. and Mrs. William Kauffman and family and guest of honor, Grandmother Kauffman. The afternoon was spent in a social way with visiting and music, a most enjoyable day was spent.
