Killed in Action in Pacific Area

Clarence Willey, 32, son of Mrs. Myrtle Willey of Mt. Pleasant, was killed in action in the Pacific recently according to word received here by relatives from Washington, D.C. The message did not give the date.

Willey entered the service in Chicago in July of this year and was a _____ 2nd class in the navy. He had his boot training in Farragut, Idaho, and was home on furlough in August. He was reared in this vicinity but more recently been in California.

Besides his mother, he is survived by two small daughters, Judy in California and Jo Ann , with his sister at Fairfield, and the following brothers and sisters, Max and Dick in the service in the Pacific area, Roscoe and Mrs. Alice Sandell, Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Ruth Campbell, Fairfield, Mrs. Pearl Buhlman, California, Frank, Glenwood and Robert in Illinois..
