MT. PLEASANT GOLF CLUB

New Organization Is Perfected. Links Located In Saunders Grove.

Over Fifty Members Have Already Joined. Work of Getting Grounds Into Condition Started. Ad Weir President of Club.

The Mount Pleasant Golf Club is at last an assured fact. An organization has been perfected, over fifty members have already joined and the indications are that by the time the links are ready there will be at least 100 members. The officers elected are as follows:

President - Ad Weir.
Secretary and Treasurer - Jas. T. Whiting.
Captain of the Greens - W. P. Baker.

The links will be in Saunders Grove and two men were busily engaged yesterday in putting the links into shape. The location is an ideal one and the city is going to do all it can to make the park attractive for the citizens. The course will be a nine hole one, later on it is hoped that tennis courts will be added and in course of time, if the golf club flourishes some of the more optimistic of the members hope that land can be secured adjacent to the park upon which a Club House may be built.

In the meantime the club will start in a small way and this fall the links will be very popular. The membership fee is $5.00 per annum and ladies will be admitted free.
