Ambrose B. Kendig was born at Silver Springs, Penn, April 28, 1863. In 1868 he moved with his parents to Jasper county, Iowa.
In 1889 he was united in marriage with Maggie Raney, remaining in Jasper county, until 1908 at which time his health being much improved he, with his family moved to Rogers, Ark. At this place Mr. Kendig united with the Christian church.
Again seeking to improve his health, Mr. Kendig with his family moved to Kansas remaining there until 1913 when he came to Harrison county, Iowa, where he lived until the time of his death, February 14, 1918, at the age of 54 years, 9 mo. and 27 days.
Mr. Kendig leaves to mourn his loss his wife and one son Donald, three brothers and one sister, John of Colfax, Iowa; C. R. Kendig of Denison, Kans., Frank of Long Beach, Cal.; Mrs. Barbra Coffman of Lancester, Penn.
Mr. Kendig was a kind and loving husband, and father and a good neighbor. He made a hard fight to regain his health so as to live the Christian life to a ripe old age, but the Lord wished it otherwise and took him to the place not made with hands eternal in the Heavens.
Funeral services were held at the Christian church at Logan, the M.E. pastor, L. E. Ripley officiating. Interment was made at the Logan cemetery.
