In Response To: Industrial School for Boys (Diane Butler)

Hi Diane

The Industrial School for Boys was originally the Reform School for boys and girls. There is a nice write up at the URL.
http://www.rootsweb.com/~iahardin/schools/industschool.html

Within the Industrial School write up is a link to the Reform School and it talks about this institution.

Start your search for records at the Iowa Historical Society in Des Moines. These are state records and were probably sent to the State Archives for safekeeping. I do not know what the retention schedule is for these kinds of records. If they are not there, the Historical group may know where they are.
