Gideon Hockett Family found in 1880 census

I am currently researching the HOCKETT family line of my genealogy. I recently found a listing in the 1880 census of a Gideon Hockett family living in Grant, Harding, Iowa. I believe this to be my gr-gr-grandfather. I would like more information on this family and have hit a bit of a brick wall. Any suggestions? Someone suggested land records but I don't know how to access those.
