Eldora Reformatory

I am doing research on my dad's family and have information that he was sent to the Eldora Reformatory in 1906 for four years. I would like to know if records exist for the reformatory from 1906-1910 and how they could be obtained, such as why a person was sent there and how long they were there. My dad's name was John Prins, b. 18 March 1894, parents were Henry and Annie Prins, probably living in Sioux County, Iowa at that time.
