Dale L. Shogren, 57, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away January 1, 2012, at the Ellsworth Municipal Hospital, Iowa Falls. Funeral services for Dale L. Shogren will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at the Linn's Funeral Chapel, 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa, with Reverend Bob Miller officiating. A time of visitation will be from 12:00 noon until services time Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Alden Township Cemetery, Alden, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the family c/o 611 south Oak Street, Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126. The Linn's Funeral Home Iowa Falls chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Dale LeRoy Shogren was born March 17, 1954, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Eugene and Betty [Pierce] Shogren. He attended the Des Moines Community Schools. He graduated from Trucking School in 1977 in Missouri. He was an over-the-road trucker for many years. On November 17, 1979 Dale was united in marriage to Karen Elizabeth Edler Hall in Newton, Iowa. Dale loved his family, playing Yahtzee, watching game shows, and his casinos.

Dale Shogren is survived by his wife: Karen Shogren of Iowa Falls, Iowa; his children: Kathy [David] Rockhold of Iowa Falls, John [Shelia] Hall of Iowa Falls, Kevin [Tami] Hall of Iowa Falls, Justin Shogren of Iowa Falls; twelve grandchildren; four brothers: Alan [Sandy] Shogren of Des Moines, Iowa, Douglas Shogren of Des Moines, Iowa, Marty [Donna] Williamson of Iowa Falls, Stanley [Joni] Williamson of Austin, Minnesota; his father-in-law: Lester Edler of Iowa Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Eugene and Doris Shogren; Betty and Merritt Walton; a brother: Lonnie Shogren; a grandson: Shelbie Giese; and a sister-in-law: Cheryl Bohall.
