Gladys Brauer, 94, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, June 03, 2014 at Scenic Manor, Iowa Falls. Funeral services for Gladys Brauer will be 11:00 am Monday, June 9, 2014, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 313 Lee Lane, Iowa Falls, Iowa. A time of visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday evening at the Linn's Funeral Home, 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa. Burial will be at the Alden Township Cemetery, Alden, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 313 Lee Lane, Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126. The Linn's Funeral Homes Iowa Falls Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Gladys Anne Meyer was born March 12, 1920, on the family farm in Franklin County, Iowa, the daughter of Herman Meyer and Emma Frederika [Kappen] Meyer. She was baptized and confirmed at the Grant Center Lutheran Church. She attended the Iowa Falls Community Schools, graduating in 1937. She went on to Ellsworth College and the University of Northern Iowa, where she received her teaching certificate. She taught school before her marriage on July 29, 1948, to Lewis Brauer at the Grant Center Luthern Church. To this union three children were born: Dwight, Rita, and Dee Ann. Gladys was a devoted wife and mother. She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she formed many lasting relationships. She also worked for the Iowa Falls Community Schools lunch program for many years and loved to play cards.

Gladys Brauer is survived by her children: Dwight Brauer of Iowa Falls, Iowa, Rita [Duane] Davis of Zimmerman, Minnesota, Dee Ann Bauer of Charleston, South Carolina; her grandchildren: Kai, Stiles, and Luba Bauer; Bekki [Steve] Majerus and family; Gretchen [Jeff] Fisher and family; Joel [Josie] Davis and family.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents: Herman and Emma Meyer; her husband: Lewis Brauer; brother; Kasper Meyer, sister; Caroline Lehman, and son-in-law: Ken Bauer.
