Funeral Service for Young Wife-Mother

Special to the Journal.
Radcliffe, Nov. 1--Funeral services for Mrs. Berlin Rorem, 28, who died at her home here Oct. 24, were held at the church of Our Savior Lutheran church here, Friday afternoon, with Dr. A. E. Rholl in charge. Rev. E. R. Rorem of Slater, an uncle of the husband spoke briefly. This followed a brief prayer service at the home.

Mr. and Mrs. Chester Pearson sang "The Old Rugged Cross," and Ida Rorem sang "Ivory Palaces."

Pall bearers were Harold Lage, Harold Anders, Arnold Severson, James Amundson, Russel Bergeson and Henry Oakland. Honorary pall bearers were close friends of Mrs. Rorem, who sere Mrs. Harold Lage, Mrs. Russel Bergeson, Irene Sevold, Margaret Skare, Mrs. Kenneth Johnson and Mrs. Emery Lake.

Committal services were at the Radcliffe cemetery in charge of Dr. Rholl and where a mixed quartette composed of Mrs. Chester Pearson, Thelma Tweet, Stanley Kalvig and Kenneth Tweet sang "Abide With Me."

Arlie Skrovig-Rorem was born Aug. 1, 1911, near Radcliffe the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Skrovig, and passed away Tuesday, Oct. 24, 1939, after a short illness. Mrs. Rorem attended the Radcliffe school and graduated with the class of 192-. In 1931 she graduated from the ---- School of Beauty Culture in Des Moines and operated a beauty salon in Hampton and Williams. On Oct. 21, 1933 she was married to Berlin Rorem of Radcliffe ---- since their marriage they made their home in Radcliffe.

Surviving are her husband, her daughter Karen, her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Andrew Skrovig, four sisters, Mrs. Leon Tjarks of Hubbard, Mrs. Harvey Hinderaker, Mrs. Everett Severson and Carol Skrovig of Radcliffe and one brother Kermit Skrovig of Marshalltown, besides many other relatives and a large circle of friend who deeply mourn her passing.

Mrs. Rorem was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran church and of the Gleaner's Mission society.
