A Sad, Sad Incident.
Steamboat Rock, Iowa, Dec. 14.— While the mother was absent from the room two children of William Sanders, a farmer four miles east of this place, set fire to the cradle in which a 10-months-old baby was sleeping, causing its death. Mrs. Sanders left the baby in the cradle in charge of the two children, both very young. She was gone only a short time, but on returning found the clothing in the cradle in flames and the little one terribly burned. The accident happened in the morning and the child lingered until late in the afternoon. Just how the children set fire to the cradle is not known, but it is supposed it was accidental.
