May 8, 1916-February 8, 2005

IOWA FALLS-Alice Lucile Kelsey, 88, of Iowa Falls passed away Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, at the Trinity Regional Hospital, Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 12, at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Iowa Falls, with the Rev. Don Preston officiating. Burial will be at Union Cemetery, Iowa Falls.

Lucile was born May 8, 1916, at her parent’s farm in Ross Township, Franklin County, the daughter of Roy William and Letha Ione [Bailey] Hemm. She attended the Chapin School, graduating with the class of 1933. On Dec. 9, 1936, she was united in marriage to Bruce Franklin Kelsey also at her parent’s home. She farmed with her husband east of Iowa Falls until retirement. Lucile was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Mary Lane Club of which she was secretary/treasurer, the United Methodist Women’s Fellowship and Iowa CCI.

Survivors include a son, Kurt Kelsey and wife Arliss of Iowa Falls; a daughter, Lynda Peterson of Fort Dodge; four grandchildren, Kent Kelsey and wife Sara of Iowa Falls, Letha Kloberdanz and husband Luke of Dane, Wis., Tim Peterson of Des Moines and Jeff Peterson and wife Jodi of Ankeny; and three great-grandchildren, Jackson Kelsey of Iowa Falls, Emma Peterson of Des Moines and Jack Peterson of Ankeny; and several nieces and nephews. Lucile was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ione Hemm; her husband; and a sister Fern and husband Ben Dohrmann.

Linn’s Funeral Home of Iowa Falls is handling arrangements.
