HAMPTON - Venita Mae Richtsmeier, 57, of rural Hampton died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Dec., 30 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Hampton with Fr. Jim Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Dumont Cemetery in Dumont. The family will receive friends Monday, Dec. 29, from 4-8 p.m. at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Dumont.
Venita was born Dec. 22, 1946, in rural Butler County to Harold and Mae (Borneman) Richtsmeier. She was raised in the Dumont area. Venita graduated from the Dumont High School and attended college in Kansas. She farmed in the Hampton area. Venita was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sons, Chris Mahler and special friend Becky of Hampton and Evan Mahler and wife Carla of Washburn; one grandson, Zarek Mahler of Washburn; a sister-in-law, Donnabelle Richtsmeier of Des Moines; and her aunt and uncle, Raymond and Betty Wickham of Dumont.
