HUBBARD - Irving John Faust, 93, of Hubbard died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, in Mesa, Ariz. Funeral services were Saturday, Dec. 6, at Salem United Methodist Church in Hubbard, with Rev. Ron Ridgway officiating. Burial was in the Hubbard Cemetery.
Irving was born Sept. 20, 1910, to John and Amelia (Wehmeier) Faust on a farm north of Hubbard. He attended school in Hubbard and played on Hubbard's first football team. After graduating in 1928, Irving attended North Central College at Naperville, Ill. While at North Central, he became a member of the men's college chorus. After college, Irving returned to Hubbard to farm with his father and brother. On Aug. 31, 1939, he was united in marriage to Jane Anderson at Randall.
Irving was a life long member of the Evangelical Church in Hubbard, singing with the church choir for over 60 years, and with his brother, Harold, sang for funerals, wedding and celebrations. He served as Sunday school superintendent and was a member of the Iowa Falls Male Chorus. Irving served on the Hubbard Elevator Coop Board and on several insurance boards. His winter retirement years were spent in Mesa.
Survivors include his wife, Jane, of Hubbard; two daughters, Ruth Jacobs of Keene, N.H., and Lois Linn of Dallas, Texas; three granddaughters, Amelia Jacobs, Sara Linn and Jennifer Barefoot; four grandsons, Jay Jocobs, Toby Gregory, Taber Meier and Chris Meier; and three great-grandchildren, Oliver Jacobs, Nicholas and Erin Meier; one sister, Clara Krukow of Hampton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding him in death were his parents; one daughter, Judith Eileen; three sisters, Anna Arensmeier, Esther Reifschneider and one sister in infancy; and one brother, Harold Faust.
Boeke Funeral Home of Hubbard was in charge of arrangements.
