HAMPTON - Orville James Landrith, 89, of Hampton died Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 20, at Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton with Rev. Jerry Miller officiating. Burial was in the Hampton Cemetery in Hampton.

Orville was born June 4, 1914, to Orville and Cora Bell (Carle) Landrith in Keithsburg, Ill. He received his education in the Keithsburg school system. Orville served in the U.S. Navy during W.W. II, earning the Purple Heart. On July 12, 1960, he was united in marriage to Ann H. Johnson at Jefferson City, Mo. Orville was employed by the U.S. Post Office in Mason City and Hampton. He was a member of the Hampton United Methodist Church. Fishing and hunting were among his favorites.

Survivors include one daughter, Beverly Stockberger and husband Dale of Geneva; one brother, John Landrith of Little York, Ill.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his special friend, Ila Mae Peterson of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann; his parents; three sisters, Rosa, Bessie and Mary; and one brother, Lawrence.
