HAMPTON - Dorothy R. Nolte, 86, of Hampton died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, at Franklin General Nursing Facility in Hampton. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003, at Hampton United Methodist Church in Hampton with Rev. Jerry Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Hampton Cemetery.
Dorothy was born July 30, 1917, in Britten, S.D., to Orvis and Emily (Chadwick) Ellsworth. She graduated from Aberdeen High School and Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen, S.D. Dorothy taught elementary school in South Dakota, Montana, Illinois and Iowa. On Dec. 23, 1979, she was united in marriage to Elmer Nolte in Hampton. Dorothy was a member of Hampton United Methodist Church, UMW, church choir, Treble Cleff Club, Humane Society and Hampton Garden Club. She enjoyed singing, playing the violin and viola, working in her garden and caring for her pets.
Survivors include her husband, Elmer; her brother, Dwight C. Ellsworth of Edge Mont, S.D.; her sister-in-law, Mary Zoe Nolte of Cedar Rapids; one stepson, Mike Nolte and wife Carol of Hampton; three step-grandchildren, Keith, Matt and Cassie Nolte all of Hampton; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Joseph Weatherer and Clarence Kothe; one brother, Duane, in infancy; two sisters, Clair and Joyce Ellsworth; and her brother-in-law, David J. Nolte.
Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home of Hampton was in charge of arrangements.
