ELDORA - Raye C. Teske, 87, of Eldora died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, at Valley View Nursing and Rehab Center in Eldora. Funeral services were Tuesday, Aug. 19, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora with Pastor David Splett officiating. Burial was in Eastlawn Memory Garden Cemetery in Eldora.
Raye was born July 10, 1916, in rural Hardin County to Charles and Hattie (Diller) Teske. He graduated from Eldora High School in 1934. On Jan. 20, 1938, he married Irene Steinfeldt at Eldora. Raye was a farmer until his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Fellowship Club and Men's Club. He served on the Owasa School Board, Jackson Farm Bureau, Hardin County Extension Council and was a Jackson Boys 4-H leader. He loved to fish, garden, and watch sporting events.
Survivors include his wife, Irene; three sons, Marvin and wife Nancy, Leon and wife Dorothy, and Dale and wife Shirley all of Eldora; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Faye Bates of Davenport. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Eva Mae Overton.
Creps-Abels Funeral Home of Eldora was in charge of arrangements.
