ACKLEY - Eleanor Grace Dentel, 98, of Ackley died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, at Presbyterian Village in Ackley. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 20, at 11 a.m. at Sietsema Funeral Home in Ackley with Rev. Gerald O'Connor and Rev. Kathryn O. Kuhn officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Ackley. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at Sietsema Funeral Home.
Eleanor was born Jan. 26, 1905, in Ackley to Max and Grace (Hilbrand) Dentel at Iowa Falls. She worked at the canning factory in Ackley. Eleanor was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Ackley where she was baptized and confirmed. She was a member of Crescent Club, Willing Workers and Cradle Roll.
Surviving her is a niece, Barbara O'Connor and husband Rev. Gerald of Sarasota, Fla.; a grandnephew, David O'Connor and wife Lisa of Westerville, Ohio; and a grandniece, Rev. Kathryn O'Connor Kuhn and husband Karl of Kiel, Wis. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Clara Hofmeister and Rose Dentel.
Sietsema Funeral Home of Ackley is in charge of arrangements.
