IOWA FALLS - Lois I. Hinton, 82, of Iowa Falls died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003, at her home. Funeral services were Saturday, Aug. 16, at First United Methodist Church in Iowa Falls with Rev. Netha Brada officiating. Burial was at Union Cemetery in Iowa Falls.
Lois was born Feb. 19, 1921, in Fairburn, S.D., to Wesley and Grace (Pitts) Amiss. She graduated from high school at Hot Springs, S.D., in 1949. In June of 1942, she was married to Jim Hinton at Princeton, Mo. Lois worked at the Met Theater and was shipping coordinator for Farmland Foods. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, EMH Auxiliary and Christian Women's Club.
Survivors include her two sons, Bob Hinton and wife Lori of West Des Moines, and Steve Hinton and wife Ruth of Iowa Falls; five grandchildren, Rees Hinton and wife Tammy of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jenni Wahl and husband Chad of Greenfield, Wis., Kelli Kucera and husband Jeff of Temperance, Mich., Brad Hinton and wife Danielle of Storrs, Conn., and Samantha Clewell of West Des Moines; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Gerald Amiss, of San Diego, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her parents; one brother; and two sisters.
Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls was in charge of arrangements.
