HARLAN -Patricia Ann Flessner, 67, of Harlan died Monday, July 14, 2003.

She was born March 10, 1936, in Ackley to Kenneth and Marie (Juel) Meyer. She graduated from Ackley High School in 1954 and attended Iowa State Teachers College, receiving a two-year teaching certificate in elementary education. In 1957, Pat moved to Harlan to teach. She married Paul M. Nielsen on June 6, 1958, at St. JohnÕs United Church of Christ in Ackley. They farmed in Shelby County for 32 years. Paul was killed in a farm accident on Nov. 29, 1990. Pat married the Rev Henry Flessner of Ord, Neb., on Sept. 4, 1994. The couple served parishes in Sioux Center, Harlan and Jacksonville.

Survivors include her husband, Henry of Harlan; her mother, Marie Meyer of Irwin; a brother, Ronald Meyer and wife Fran of Iowa Falls; two daughters, Julie McKeever and husband Joel of Defience and Karen Scribano and Rob of Oak park, Ill.; a son, Ken Nielsen of Harlan; two stepsons, John Flessner and wife Cendra of Kansas City, Mo.; and Nathan Flessner and wife Kim of Ord; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth, and her first husband, Paul Nielsen.
