WELLSBURG-Edwin E. Stahl, 85, of Wellsburg died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. Services were held Monday, Dec. 9, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural Wellsburg, with burial in the church cemetery. Paul Toelke, intern, officiated.

Edwin was born Jan. 1, 1917, in rural Holland to Jurgen and Harmka Harms Stahl. He attended country school and on March 10, 1943, he married Mary Harms at Wellsburg. In 1946 they moved north of Wellsburg where they farmed for 31 years. In 1977 they moved into Wellsburg and Edwin worked for Surge Equipment for several years. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and served on the church council for several years. He enjoyed the outdoors and farming.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, of Wellsburg; a sister, Mabel Nederhoff, of Wellsburg and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and two sisters.

Doyen-Abels Funeral Home in Wellsburg was in charge of arrangements.
