GRUNDY CENTER-Elmer James Boelman, 74, of Grundy Center, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2001, at Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center. Services were held Monday, Aug. 27, at the First Baptist Church in Grundy Center, with burial the Stout Cemetery. Pastor Michael Nemmers officiated.
Elmer was born Aug. 3, 1927, in New Hartford, to Henry and Martha Bergman Boelman. He attended Robertson grade school at Robertson and on Nov. 21, 1949, he married Kathryn Bruns in Austinville. He worked at Van Wechel Motors in Grundy Center for many years. He was member of the First Baptist Church, where he and his wife were custodians for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; two sons, Stan and wife, Paula, of Luton, England, a sister-in-law, Bernadine Boelman of Ackley. He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant brothers, and a brother, Herman.
Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center, was in charge of arrangements.
