HUBBARD - Kathryn Lucille McKinney Brandt, 84, of Hubbard died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, at her farm home near Hubbard. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 10 a.m. at Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa where she will be interred.

Kathryn was born Dec. 30, 1919, to A. Ray and Mabel (McCord) McKinney near Rose Hill. The family later moved to the family farm in Adams Township where Kathryn spent her early childhood to her adulthood years. Kathryn attended the Johnson School near the family farm and graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1937.

After graduation, she spent several years operating the family farm with her father. In 1962, Kathryn married Rudy Brandt of Hubbard. The couple operated a farm near Hubbard which she continued to do after his death. Kathryn enjoyed gardening, reading, being the family historian and going for long walks with her dog, Bandit.

Survivors include her three sisters, Ruth M. Bass of Brigham City, Utah, Grace Lester of San Jose, Calif., and Jean Wyland of Silverton, Ore.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Rudy and brother, John.

Boeke Funeral Home of Hubbard is in charge of arrangements.
