CEDAR FALLS-Velva P. Wise, 85, of Cedar Falls, died at her home on Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, after a sudden illness. Services were held Wednesday, Aug. 8, at the Ellis Park Church with burial in the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls.
Velva was born March 25, 1916, in Walker, to Irving and Ruth Kaizer McCalley. On July 8, 1943, she married Paul Wise in Cedar Rapids. She was a member of the Ellis Park Church of God.
Survivors include a daughter, Martha Hastings and husband, Ron, of Iowa Falls; a son, Charles Wise and wife, Sandy, of Monticello, Ind.; two brothers, Forrest McCalley of Alburnett, and Garland McCalley of Salem, Ore.; four grandchildren, Andrea Wise, Matthew Wise and wife, Julie, and Ryan and Jason Hastings. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband in 1993.
