RICHFIELD, Minn.-James R. Madole, 64, of Richfield, Minn., formerly of Babbitt, Minn., died Wednesday, July 18, 2001, at Fairview University Hospital in Minneapolis, Minn.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date.

James was born June 20, 1937, in Eldora, to Clyde and Melba Manwiller Madole. He grew up in Eldora and Iowa Falls and graduated from Iowa Falls High School in 1955. He served in the United States Army from 1960-62 and in the Army Reserve from 1962-66. He moved to Babbitt in 1970 and worked at the Reserve Mining Company until it closed and at the VFW after that. He had been in declining health since 1994. James was a member of the American Legion Maki Pinola Post 535 in Babbitt.

He is survived by a two sisters, Shirley Rayer of Eden Prairie, Minn., and Gwen Elliott and husband, George, of Union; five nieces and six nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Margaret Mason.
