HAMPTON-Marjorie J. Thielen, 77, of Hampton, died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at the Franklin General Hospital Nursing Facility at Hampton. Services were held Friday, Aug. 3, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Latimer, with burial in the Hampton Cemetery. Rev. Randall Bell officiated.

Marjorie was born June 1, 1924, at Burchinal, to Richard and Gladys Rodemeyer Thielen. She attended country school at Coulter and never married. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Latimer, and the Ladies Guild. Her hobbies were embroidering and reading.

She is survived by three brothers, Lavern Thielen of Cedar Falls, Duane Thielen of Hampton, and Gayhart Thielen of Latimer; four sisters, Betty Gausman of Latimer, Shirley Swieter of Clarion, Irene Shear of Batesville, Ark., and Sandy Kracht of Dows; a sister-in-law, Bertha Thielen of Latimer; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bill and Dick; and a niece, Deborah Bakker.

Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home of Hampton, was in charge of arrangements.
