IOWA FALLS-Marie Wood, 70, of Iowa Falls, died Thursday, June 7, 2001, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Services were held Tuesday, June 12, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Iowa Falls, with burial in Friends Cemetery, Iowa Falls. Rev. Kenneth Krueger officiated.

Marie was born July 25, 1930, in Pomona, Calif., to Orin and Olive Brough Welch. On Nov. 2, 1958, she married Arnold Wood at Las Vegas, Nev. She was employed as a child care provider for many years.

She is survived by four sons, John Sanders and fiancee, Mary Beth, of Illinois, Robert Sanders of Ames, Michael Sanders and wife, Cindy, of Geneva, and Orin Sanders of Bloomfield; two daughters, Cheryl Stotser and her fiancee, Dan Butler, of Iowa Falls, and Carol Wood of Iowa Falls; 22 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Arnold.

Surls Funeral Home of Iowa Falls was in charge of arrangements.
