HAMPTON-Burton Merle Hines, 60, of Hampton, died Monday, May 14, 2001, at his home in Hampton. Services were held Friday, May 18, at Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion.
Burton was born Jan. 19, 1941, in Council Bluffs, to Francis and Sylvia Brooks Hines. He graduated from Clarion High School and was a truck driver by profession.
He is survived by a daughter, Juanita Bekx of Graettenger; three sons, Jeremy of Hampton, Kenny of Mason City, Burt Jr. of Glenwood, and Merle of Alberta, Minn.; four brothers, Raymond Hines of Corpus Christy, Texas, Bob Hines of Denver, Colo., Bill Hines of Clarion, and Benny of Arizona; two sisters, Lila Carpenter of Hastings, Minn., and Merelene Andreasen of Forest City; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two son, and a sister.
