Alice Marie Kelsey Moore
May 7, 1920-February 2, 2008

IOWA FALLS—It was a life well-lived: Born May 7, 1920, to Edna K. Kratz and George Maxwell Kelsey on the family farm near Iowa Falls, and died on Feb. 2, 2008. After graduating from Ellsworth College in Iowa Falls, Alice taught area students in a one-room schoolhouse before becoming a radio operator at Braniff Airways in Chicago, Denver, Kansas City and Dallas. Alice met the love of her life, Sherman C. Moore, who worked for Braniff at Love Field in Dallas. Alice and Sherman married on May 20, 1947, and had four children. She graduated magna cum laude from TWU in 1965 and was a teacher in the RISD for 20 years. Alice and Sherman were very active members of the First United Methodist Church of Richardson where she loved singing in the choir.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four sisters and one brother. She is survived by her children: Patricia Moore-Gode, Becky Saba, Tom Moore and Rich Moore; grandchildren: Allison Saba Kennedy, Eric Saba, Tony Saba, Thomas Moore, Joshua Moore, Edward Moore and Brianna Moore; and great-grandchildren: Henry and Owen Kennedy.

A Texas memorial service was held Monday, Feb. 18, at First United Methodist Church, Richardson. A Colorado memorial service was held Friday, Feb. 15, at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, Highlands Ranch.
