STORM LAKE—Irma Beatrice (Ellison) Nixon, 85, of Storm Lake, and formerly of Williams, passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, at Scenic Manor Care Facility, Iowa Falls. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at the First United Methodist Church, Iowa Falls, with the Rev. Terra Amundson officiating. A time of visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at the Williams Cemetery, Williams. The Linn’s Funeral Homes Iowa Falls Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Irma Beatrice Ellison was born Feb. 14, 1922, in Chickasaw County, the daughter of Guy Orville and Marietta Z. (Conaway) Ellison. She attended the Williams Community Schools. On June 5, 1938, she was united in marriage to Ervin Lael Nixon at Williams. They farmed by Williams and then moved to Storm Lake, where she worked for J. Verenhorst Fabrics. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Iowa Falls, a former member of the Storm Lake Church of Christ and the Williams United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday school at the Williams United Methodist Church for many years. She was a member of the Tuesday Pals and Harmony Club of Williams.

Irma Nixon is survived by her children Ronald (Wilma) Nixon of Jonesboro, Ark., Shirley (Robert) Crosser of Steamboat Rock, Melvin (Linda) Nixon of Des Moines, Richard (Diane) Nixon of Santee, Calif., Janet Grandgeorge of Alden, Thomas Nixon of Williams and Clara (Steve) Robb of Storm Lake; many grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandchildren; siblings Robert (Phyllis) Ellison of San Diego, Calif., Edith Mutschler of Iowa Falls and Dorothy Madden of Iowa Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Marietta Ellison; her husband, Ervin Nixon (1985); two brothers, William Ellison and Charles Ellison; and one sister, Caroline Doss.
