W.R. Seeley and wife celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their wedded life on Saturday, Dec. 2, 1899, at the old homestead in Buckeye township, the present home of their son, W.H. Seeley. W.R. Seeley and Sarah A. Robinson were married in Victory, Cayuga county, N.Y. on Dec. 2, 1849, and moved to Illinois in September, 1853. They came to Iowa in the spring of 1869, residing in the vicinity of Alden until 1892, since which time they have lived in Webster City. After a bountiful dinner the children presented their father with a gold-headed cane and their mother with a gold ring as tokens of their respect and affection, after which the day was closed with a parlor entertainment.
