Weert Gayken married my fathers aunt and I have started doing research on this family. I would like any information starting with Weert's father.
G.M. (George)and Margaret Gayken were living in Hancock Co according to the 1895 state census. In 1900 he bought land in Kossuth Co. near Titonka. The land was then sold in 1915 and I believe George died in 1917. These are his children:Anna, Benedena, Elizabeth, Gebke, Hie, Ida, John, Margaret, Weert, Gusta (?) and Frank. There may have been one or two other children. According to the 1910 census Margaret had 15 children, 12 of which were alive in 1910. I believe some of the children stayed in Hancock and some stayed in Kossuth. Or one or two may have been in MN at some point. Weert married in Iowa and then went up to Clark Co., WI where he died in 1945. His obit states that he is survived by three sisters and 4 brothers. Please contact me if you have any information. Thank You Lynn
