Clara Lauden

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 16, 1992 for Clara Lauden, 86, who died May 13 at the Concord Care Center in Garner. The Rev. Don Walters officiated at the service which was held at the Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ in Klemme. Burial was in the Ell Township Cemetery with the Tenold Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Clara (Larson) Lauden was born on May 3, 1906 at Blairsburg to John and Mary (Kolling) Larson. As a youth she received her education in the rural schools in Hancock County.

She was united in marriage to Walter Lauden on February 14, 1928 at Klemme. They lived and farmed together in Hancock County for several years near Goodell, Forest City and Klemme. In 1959 they retired and moved to Klemme.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter; two grandsons, Robert Paul and Roger Lindsay; two brothers; two sisters; and one son-in-law.

Surviving are her daughters, Mrs. Rosie Gerdes of Klemme, Mrs. Marvin (Wilma) Lindsay of Swaledale, and Mrs. Charles (Betty) Cole of Belmond; seven grandchildren, Mrs. Mike (Valerie) Lemme of Chicago, Sandra Gerdes of Kissimme, FL., Karen Gerdes of Burbank, CA., Arlen Lindsay of Mason City, Mrs. Mitchell (Tamara) Gladue of Sacramento, CA., John Cole of Belmond, and James Cole of Simi Valley, CA.; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Sylvia Early of Mason City, and Mrs. Herman (Lenora) Meints of Klemme; and two brothers, Elmer Larson of Ventura and James Larson of Belmond.

Casket bearers were David Lindman, Harvey Larson, Larry Boller, Richard Meints, Terry Meints, Dorance Rosendahl and Dorance Lauden.
