Britt Woman Dies at 85; Rites Thursday
Britt - Mrs. Ann J. Fillenwarth, 85, died Monday at the Hancock Memorial Hospital following a long illness.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Nazarene Church, preceded by a prayer service at the Boughton Funeral Home. The Rev. Stewart Abel will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Born Dec. 16, 1873, at Shamokin, Pa., she came here with her parents at 3. After her marriage to Frank Fillenwarth, the couple farmed southwest of Britt until retiring in 1926. Mrs. Fillenwarth received special recognition from the Red Cross and U. S. Government for her knitting of socks and sweaters during World War I.
She is survived by a son, Vincent, who lives on the family farm and a daughter, Margaret, Britt; three sisters, Mrs. Maria Shaper, Britt; Mrs. Delia Shulz. Santa Rosa, Calif.; Mrs. Libby Redmond, Choteau, Mont., and two brothers, Henry Ward, Klemme and William Ward, Britt.
