World War II Navy Veteran Dies at Woden

Woden - Harold Buns, son of John E. Buns, 26, World War II Navy veteran, died Monday at 9 a.m. following a lingering illness at the home of his sister, Mrs. Martin Smith, where he has been cared for the past month.

Survivors are his wife, Louise, and two small children, Patricia, 2, and Michael 3 1/2 months; his father, John E. Buns; three sisters, Mrs. Martin Smith and Mrs. Cyril Halverson of Woden, and Mrs. Julius Bilyeu of Chicago; two brothers, Henry of Woden and John of Mankato, Minn. His mother died in 1937 and a brother, Arnold, died in World War II in 1942.

Harold resided with his family at Ringsted and was employed as manager of the Farmers Elevator at Wallingford until his illness forced him to discontinue his work.

Funeral rites will be held on Wednesday at the Boughton Funeral Home at Britt at 1:30 p.m. followed by services at St. John's Lutheran church in Woden at 2:15 p.m. with the pastor, the Rev. E. R. Sommerfield, officiating.

Burial will be in Bingham Township cemetery.
