S. L. Aldridge Dies at Britt; Rites Monday

Britt - Sidney Louis Aldridge, 66, died Saturday morning at the Hancock Memorial Hospital. He had been in poor health many years.

The son of Wesley and Hattie Morrison Aldridge, he was born at Garner, Aug. 26, 1891. He studied law at the State University of Iowa.

He was married to Neta Potten and lived in Britt where he operated a cleaning establishment. He was later married to Mrs. Inez Brown at Kirksville, Mo. He was a member of the IOOF. He had been a employee of the Mason City Globe Gazette many years before moving back to Britt where he was employed in the S and S Cafe until he retired, due to poor health.

Surviving Mr. Aldridge are his wife, Inez, a son, Sylvester R., Britt; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Harriet) Robinson, Mason City; Elva Eldridge, Davenport; a step daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Susan) Workman, Dale, Ore., and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Boughton Funeral Home, Britt, with the Rev. Stewart Abel, pastor of the Nazarene Church, officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery.
