JOHN WELLEK OF DUNCAN BURIED

Heart Disease resulted in Sudden Death; Rites Are Held

GARNER, May 26 - Funeral services were held this morning in the Duncan Catholic church for John Wellek [Wellik]. Mr. Wellek died at his home near Duncan early Saturday morning following only a few hours of illness from heart disease.

Mr. Wellek was born in Czechoslovakia and came to America with his parents when eight years old. The family settled near Duncan a few miles west of Garner in Garfield township and in that vicinity he spent his life. He was married to Miss Krall of Calmar. Two sons and three daughters were born, Lucy, at home, Mary, who is now Mrs. James Tlach, Edward and Lillian, at home. One boy died in 1906. An older brother, Frank; sisters, Mrs. Bill Fritsch and Mrs. Ben Krall and Mrs. Mary Hadacek and brother, Joe, all of whom live near Duncan, and a younger brother, Charles, cashier of the Farmers National bank, lives in Garner, also survives.
