C. Wermersen rites Friday at Corwith
Funeral services for Christopher F. Wermersen, 78, of Corwith, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist church in Corwith with the Rev. Frank Considine officiating. Burial will be in the Corwith cemetery with military rites conducted by the Elmer Wilson Post No. 229 of the American Legion. The Blake Funeral Home of Corwith is in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers are Elwood Geary, Sherryl May, Raymond Frey, Albert Cordes, Robert Skelly and Charles Sorenson.
Christopher Wermersen was born Oct. 18, 1890 at Flannigan, Ill., son of Harm and Amelia Dallman Wermersen. He farmed in the Corwith area many years but had retired and moved into Corwith. He was taken to the Hancock Memorial Hospital at Britt Tuesday afternoon where he died shortly after. He was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors are four sisters, a half sister and two brothers. Mrs. Vern Nims, Mrs. Mathilda Gee and Mrs. Rebecca Dawson, all of Corwith; Mrs. Tony Harding, Pontiac, Ill. and Mrs. Julia William of Curlew and Albert of Corwith.
