Former Garner Resident Dies in Minnesota
GARNER - Funeral services for Mrs. Cliff Nesbit, 60, will be held at the Bohn Funeral Home in Garner at 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. Trevor Baskerville, pastor of the First Methodist Church in Garner officiating. Interment will be in the Concord Township Cemetery. Mrs. Nesbit died at the Municipal Hospital in Worthington, Minn., Saturday morning following a lingering illness.
Edna Schmidt, the daughter of William and Mary Schmidt, was born in Liberty Township March 18, 1898. In 1915 the family moved to Garner and November 4, 1921, she was united in marriage with Clifford Nesbit. The family lived most of the time in Garner except for 10 years at Austin, Minn., where Mr. and Mrs. Nesbit managed the Terp Ballroom.
Later they owned and operated the Nesbit Cafe in Garner later moving to Worthington, Minn., where they have resided for the past two years.
Surviving are her husband, Clifford, her daughter, Beatrice, and granddaughter, all of Worthington, Minn., one sister, Lillian of Garner and three brothers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.
