Harry Maw, 67, Corwith Barber, Dies Thursday
CORWITH - Harry Maw, a barber for the past 47 years, died at a Rochester, Minn. hospital Thursday at the age of 67.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist church in Corwith with Rev. Herbert Shaffer officiating. Burial will be in the Corwith cemetery with the Blake funeral home in charge of arrangements.
He was born at Leigh, Neb. Oct 3, 1905, son of Robert and Elizabeth Bridges Maw. He married Abigale Hartwig at Madison, Neb. on May 31, 1936. She survives as do two sons and a daughter; John Maw, Corwith; James Maw, Cedar Falls; Gerry, Mrs. John DeWaard, Kanawha; and a niece they raised, Mrs. Verlene Slack of Des Moines.
Preceding him in death was an infant son and another niece raised in the home. A brother and sister preceded him in death but three brothers and six sisters survive, all living either in California or Nebraska except a sister who is a missionary in Korea.
He was a member of the American Legion.
