ROY W. JACOBS

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Klemme United Methodist Church for Roy Wayne Jacobs, 76, who died January 31 at a Mason City hospital. Rev. Herb and Rev. Barbara Shafer officiated. Burial was in the Ell Township Cemetery, Klemme. Tenold Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Roy was born October 28, 1910 near Corwith to Peter and Oma Tabb Jacobs. He graduated from Corwith High School in 1929.

On April 28, 1934 he was married to Phildred Izzard at Goldfield. They farmed near Corwith until 1936 and moved to a farm east of Klemme where they farmed and Roy worked in the Klemme Co-op Elevator. They retired to Klemme in 1972.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters. Surviving are his wife, Phildred; children: Don Maurice Jacobs of Palatine, IL; Kay (Mrs. Ron) Karsjens of Garner; Cecil Jacobs, Woodbury, MN; JoAnne Gentle, Avon, IL; and Michael Jacobs, Nashua, NH; 11 grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one sister, June (Mrs. Herbert) Minick of LaJolla, CA.

Casket bearers were Norman Bruggeman, Arnett Ostendorf, Elmer Wessels, Gary Alberts, Gary Studer and Ivan Frey.
