Well Known Corwith Man Dies Wednesday

Irving Applegate, 99, a pioneer of the Corwith area, died Wednesday at Westview Retirement Home at Britt.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church in Corwith. Rev. Frank Considine officiated. Burial was at Corwith cemetery with the Boughton Corwith Funeral Home in charge.

Born April 28, 1868, at Blackstone, Ill., he was the son of Amos and Jennie Evans Applegate. The family moved to Corwith in 1892. Mr. Applegate, a retired farmer, never married.

He was preceded in death by three brothers. His only survivors are a niece and two nephews.
