H. L. McNary, 88, dies at Britt; Rites Wednesday

BRITT: H. L. McNary, 88, died Sunday at the Hancock Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Boughton Funeral Home with the Rev. Warren S. Paige of the Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

The son of John And Margaret McNary, he was born at State Center, March 15, 1873. He was graduated from Iowa State College, Ames, as a buttermaker. He was married to Grace Lakin at Ellsworth, Jan. 10, 1900. He came here as a buttermaker in 1902 and later had the Ford dealership in Britt. He was owner of the third Ford car ever made by Henry Ford. Later he was associated in the Britt creamery.

Surviving are his wife, two sons, Arlo L., Beloit, Wis., and Harlan, Britt. He was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.
