Services for John A. Haan, 31, of Garner, who died Thursday at his home in Klemme, were held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 20 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner with Rev. Msgr. Roger O'Brien as celebrant.

Mrs. Ronald Kumsher, organist, accompanied the church choir. Ushers were Elmer Urich and Robert Kral. Casket bearers were Bryan Haan, Barry Haan, Darren Haan, Thomas Haan, Shane Maben and Shannon Maben.

Burial was in St. Boniface Catholic Church Cemetery at Garner. Visitation and a scriptural wake service were held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel Monday.

John Alfred Haan, the son of Edward John and Myrtle Pauline (Schreiber) Haan was born July 2, 1953 at Forest City.

After graduating from Garner Hayfield High School in 1972, John worked for Bob Erdman for nine years. In April of 1980 he moved to Texas where he worked for the Flood Oil Company and for various farmers.

September 18, 1981 he married Carol Berneman of Clear Lake at Amarillo, Texas. In 1982 they returned to Garner. John worked for Korbert Inc. at Klemme.

He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner.

He is survived by his son, John Edward Haan, of Clear Lake; his mother, Mrs. Myrtle Haan of Clinton, Mo.; his brothers and sisters: William Haan and his wife, Joyce of Manly; James E. Haan and his wife Nancy Jo, of Garner; Mrs. Zita Jaycox of Garner and Mrs Ralph (Irene) Thomas of Clinton, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward John Haan, August 24, 1982.
